First elected 68th Civil District Judge in Dallas County in 2006 and reelected in 2010 and 2014, Judge Hoffman’s court specializes in civil jurisdiction. Over the course of his first three terms, Judge Hoffman has significantly improved the efficiency in his court, developed an innovative program to address home equity foreclosures, and he’s received the one of the highest approval rating among the fifteen Civil District and Associate judges in the 2009, 2011, and 2013 Dallas Bar Association Judicial Evaluation polls.
Prior to taking the bench, Judge Hoffman was a practicing civil litigator for thirteen years. He initially worked for the law offices of Windle Turley and later became the litigation manager for the law firm of Smoger & Associates. He is board certified in Personal Injury Trial Law. Judge Hoffman received his degrees in economics and philosophy from Trinity University and graduated from University of Texas Law School.
Judge Hoffman met is wife, Heather, while at Trinity. Heather is a speech therapist that works with developmentally delayed children for Carrollton – Farmers Branch I.S.D. They live together in Dallas with their two kids, Nick and Emma.
